Ban the gas guzzlers
Sir Mark Moody-Stuart caused all kinds of stir when he spoke to the BBC and the press yesterday his recommendation to the EU that they should ban cars that don’t do at least 35mpg. So, has he decided to go green because its ‘trendy’? please note, this is the man whose decisions caused heaps of probably unnecessary carbon emissions in Africa, with his gas flaring. He could have gone green a lot sooner and had a lot more positive impact on the planet, but it obviously didn’t suit him then, which leads me to believe his next seat on the board, will be the board of a motoring company thats looking to enhance its green credentials. So back to business, what cars would we lose? How fortunate, mines not on the list, but the Lexus 600h is. I expected better from a hybrid for some reason :-( I have mused on what the American car giants think of this, and is he influential enough to make a change? or has he been having to many dinners with Ken Livingstone and caught the ‘Gas Guzzlers are evil’ rhetoric from him? |
